To build back better we must eradicate slavery in G7 supply chains

Dame Sara Thornton, Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner and Alex Thier, CEO of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, write in today’s Red Box section of The Times that G7 leaders must prioritise a coordinated approach on tackling the global issue of forced labour in supply chains when they meet this week. They recommend specific and measurable commitments including working towards the harmonisation of laws and standards, and investment in providing support to survivors. They also highlight the importance of continued collaboration between leaders, business sectors and public bodies to ensure that a common goal to end slavery in global supply chains is achieved.
