Dame Sara Thornton, UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner and Alex Thier, CEO of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, have been quoted in today’s The Times as they call on G7 leaders to coordinate their response to the global issue of slavery in supply chains arguing that "the world must come together to ban all state-controlled forced labour, like what is happening in China today." Thornton and Thier say that banning state-controlled forced labour is one of four specific, measurable commitments the G7 should agree when the meet this week.
