UK Map: Online sexual services adverts prevalence and risk indicators

How to use the map

This interactive map shows the prevalence of online sexual services adverts identified through data collection from 12 of the most widely used platforms at a single point in time. The map displays the total number of adverts identified within each selected area (count), alongside the median and mean Sexual Trafficking Identification Matrix (STIM) risk indication scores.

The risk scores reflect the number of indicators identified within advert content.  These should be interpreted as analytical markers of possible exploitation and not confirmed cases.  Users can explore geographic patterns, switch between a UK-wide heatmap and boundary views, and compare countries, regions, counties and parliamentary constituencies. Risk scores range from 1 to 7, where 1 indicates lower indicators of risk and 7 indicates higher indicators of risk.

  • Select your preferred view: UK Heatmap, countries, regions, counties or constituencies.
